Iso Rytisuo (Yli-Ii)

Component Master plan ➔ The EIA process has been completed; the draft plan is currently being prepared

In 2019, Infinergies Finland Oy began planning the Iso Rytisuo project in Yli-Ii, in the northern part of Oulu. The project area covers approximately 1,400 hectares and is located about 5 km northeast of the village of Yli-Ii.

Up to 9 wind turbines are planned for the project area. The total capacity of the turbines is estimated at 72 MW, and their estimated maximum annual output is approximately 180 GWh, which corresponds roughly to the annual electricity consumption of 9,500 electrically heated single-family homes for a family of four, with an average annual energy consumption of 19,000 kWh.

The EIA procedure for the Iso Rytisuo project concluded with a reasoned conclusion in the summer of 2025. A draft plan for the project is currently being prepared for the City of Oulu. At the same time, some refinements are also being made to the nature and environmental surveys.

At Infinergies, we are collaborating on this project with ABO Energy Finland Oy with the aim of shaping our future and producing renewable, emission-free energy.

As of November 2025, responsibility for the project has been transferred to Fortum Oyj.
